In the six clubs we read, a full adult subscription ran from £872 to £1,830 a year (€800 at the Irish club), and most clubs add a joining fee and an affiliation fee on top. The ledger below lists only what clubs themselves publish, read on 15 October 2026, with the page where each figure appears. It is a small sample of six clubs, not an average or a market survey.
Fewer rows are better than guessed rows. We have not included clubs whose fees we could not read, and we have no row for the United States or the UAE. The clubs we read in those places did not publish a schedule we could open. If you need a figure there, ask the club.

For Chesterfield (UK), the page for the season 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 states a full adult joining fee of £1,200, or £400 for under 35s, which can be spread over three years. Its subscriptions are shown only as images on the page we read, so there is no subscription row.
Each row is copied from the page as it stood on 15 October 2026. Prices change, often on 1 January, 1 April or 1 October. Prenton's page does not say which year its annual fees apply to, so treat that row with extra care.
What else the pages show
A few cheaper categories at the same clubs, for scale:
- Rookery Park lists categories from £60 (12 and under) to £1,135, including a £305 Par 3 category and a £50 Social category.
- Dunfermline lists intermediate categories at £305.20 (19 to 21) and £436 (22 to 25), and a country category at £610.40.
- Farnham Estate lists €700 for over-55s, €325 for under-25s and €525 for distance and country members, and says the rates exclude Golf Ireland fees and insurance.
What the numbers are made of
- Annual subscription. The yearly fee for the category. It usually depends on how often you can play, such as 7 day, 5 day or off peak, and on your age.
- Joining or entrance fee. A one-off charge at the start. It may be a flat amount, a share of the subscription, or payable over several years. Some clubs credit an application fee against it.
- Affiliation fee. A charge for the county and national golf union, often shown separately. Prenton's page adds £20.50 and Rookery Park's £24.
- Levies. Bar cards, development funds and similar fees, as on the Stanton page.
- Waiting lists. A club that is full may keep a list. The price of a place is then the wait.
How to compare clubs honestly
- Add all the lines. Subscription plus affiliation plus any levy, then the joining fee spread over the years you expect to stay.
- Check the year. A page for last season is not this season's price.
- Check the category. A cheaper off-peak or five-day category has limits on when you can play.
- Ask what is not listed. Competition entries, locker fees, trolley storage and guest fees can all be extra.
- Ask whether a waiting list applies. And whether the fee is due on joining or on reaching the top of the list.
What this ledger does not claim
It is not a ranking, an average or a guide to what a club near you charges. It does not cover private clubs that do not publish their fees. Many in the United States and the Gulf do not, and we do not estimate. A figure quoted on a third-party site without a club page is not in this ledger.
Where Elected Golf sits
For comparison, Elected Golf is not a course. The founding Member price for Intake I is $480 a year, and it is not open yet: nothing is charged and no card is asked for. The terms are on the terms of membership page. It buys continuation of the plan and the record, not tee times, and it is not comparable to a club subscription.
