Terms

Elected Golf is a golf club entered by a 28-day Candidacy. These terms cover the site and the Candidacy. Not open yet. Nothing is charged and no card is asked for.

The Candidacy

• You must be 18 or over to apply.
• You make the Honour Pledge: you will log only what happened, as you would sign a scorecard.
• Election is automatic under the published rule (requirements R1 to R8 and honour rules H1 to H5) on the practice plan page. No person grades you or your Letter.
• You may ask for a person to review any outcome, as the privacy page describes. If a rule was applied wrongly, or a record it relied on was wrong, the outcome is corrected.
• One application per person per intake. A seat, once taken, is not reissued in that intake.

What the club is not

We are not affiliated with any club and cannot secure admission. Elected Golf is not affiliated with the USGA, The R&A, England Golf or the Emirates Golf Federation, or with any golf club or governing body, and none of them endorses it. It issues no handicap: your numbers here are an unofficial Playing Record. The Rules paper paraphrases the Rules of Golf; the official Rules are published by the USGA and The R&A.

Names that belong to others

USGA and GHIN are names and marks of the United States Golf Association. The R&A and its marks belong to The R&A. England Golf, iGolf and the Emirates Golf Federation are the names of those bodies and their services. They are used here only to identify those bodies, and remain theirs.

Injury and safety

The plan is general information for adults who are fit to play golf. It is not medical advice, physiotherapy or a fitness programme, and it was not written for your body in particular. Speak to a doctor or physiotherapist before starting if you have a condition or an injury or are unsure whether you are fit to practise. Warm up, stop at once if anything hurts, look before you swing, and stop play when there is lightning. You choose whether to take part in any drill or round and how hard to push, and you practise and play at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, the club accepts no responsibility for injury or loss arising from practice or play you undertake. The full notice is on the practice plan page.

Billing

Not open yet. Nothing is charged and no card is asked for. Nothing is charged at application, at election or when you accept election, and pressing Accept election records your intent only: it is not an agreement to pay. If billing opens, everyone who accepted is written to first with the exact terms, and decides then. These refund terms will apply: a full refund on request within 30 days of the first payment; a pro-rata refund if the club closes or materially changes what membership includes; and renewal only if you separately choose it, with a reminder 30 days before. Your content

Your logs and your Letter are yours. Your Letter is published only if you are elected and choose it, and you can withdraw it at any time. Do not log anything that is not true, and do not put another person's details in a note.

Ending a Candidacy

You may withdraw at any time by deleting your Candidacy from your Candidacy page. A Candidacy that ends unelected names the rule that ended it, and you may apply to a later intake.

No warranty, and limits

The site, the plan and the paper are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Elected Golf is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under consumer-protection law that applies to you.

Changes

These terms may change as the club changes. The date below is when they were last changed. A change never applies to a Candidacy already under way without your agreement.
